I think she is talking about homemade cards that people make as an arts and crafts project. I agree that Marge needs to be more specific so that we understand her question.

Try JoAnne's or Michael's . they have lots of books and info on paper arts.

You can find so many colorful glossy textures in magazines that you have read and are ready to recycle.   Cut or tear out things that appeal to you and before long you will have a stash you can use to make cards in whatever colors/themes you want.  Each card will be unique and unlike any other the recipient will receive.  lots of fun colorful shapes cut from magazines
