I can definitely say I'm a coffee addict. At least 6 cups a day. I'd like to kick off that habit, but am afraid of excessive eating instead. What shall I do?
You might want to consider drinking tea instead. Although green tea does have caffeine in it you can look for ones which are low-caffeine. Alternatively try some
Hello like-minded coffee drinker, I too am a coffee addict. But I cannot totally give up coffee. I do drink try to drink fewer cups or sometimes I skip days. But
I think the minute you start thinking about this, you're going to fulfill this fear, si I wouldn't even go with a partial limitation.
If you take cream and sugar, replace it with low fat milk and artificial sweeteners. I always thought caffeine is one of the safer addictions one can have.

Thanks, I appreciate your answers.
You probably use coffee to keep you perked up or at least that is how it started. learing how to eat properly will give you more energy and allow you to slowly decrease your intake. Try switching from cow's milk to a soy milk or creamer and start by decreasing one cup per week gradually and find other things to do. check out this site to learn some eating habits that helped me eliminate coffee all together http://www.greattastenopain.com/cmdt.asp?id=849605

It's typically much easier to replace one habit with another than to quit something cold turkey. 6 cups of coffee is a lot, and is enough to cause moderate health problems (probably nothing really serious) in many people, such as insomnia, anxiety, acid reflux, or other problems with the digestive system. One of the best options would be to gradually switch to tea. Tea contains much less caffeine than coffee, as that page that I wrote explains, and if you switch even one cup of coffee to tea, it can make a difference in how you feel and in your health. You can then develop a taste for tea and slowly switch more of your coffee out for tea. Because tea has so much less caffeine, six cups of tea, even strong tea, is still considered pretty moderate use. Another piece of advice? Make sure you're sleeping well. This will make it easier to get up in the morning. Are you getting enough exercise during the day? This can make it easier to sleep. Try cutting back coffee late in the day first, so you sleep more soundly. Good luck!
