cockatoo attacking owner.  Hello. My citron cockatoo Noel has been a wonderful bird for the last 4 years. My wife and I have been his only owners. Last month he bit me for the first time. I also own a goffin who is 7 years old. Noel yesterday jumped off his gym (which I put him on after getting him from his cage ) when I tried to get him he bit me. Then as I sadly stood there he flew at me to attack. What have I done and where do I star the rehabilitation process with my once good buddy Noel.

Hi Ron, There are so many variables and so many reasons, have you tried the mytoos.com message board for answers? This is a really good site with a lot of caring humans willing to give advice. I'm a mother to a sulphur crested 'too and we've been working with the biting issue here also. Also check with your avian vet to find a local expert who can work with you and your bird. Cockatoos take a great deal of patience and understanding, but the rewards are amazing! I wish you luck. Kris
