Attach a bracket to the top of the case with a couple of screws and then to the wall into a stud. Many new grandfather clocks come with a zip tie screwed to the top of the case and the opposite side has an end that a screw is passed through then into a stud or a auger type wall anchor.

cc...behave yourself. THAT IS NOT AN OPTION, BRAT!

Now...taking him away from it...and explaining to him why he shouldn't lean on it...<because it might fall on him and break him like Humpty Dumpty> IS AN OPTION.

By taking an egg and dropping a brick on it...might give him some idea of what would happen to his little head if that big ole' mean Grandfather Clock fell on it. :o/

Depends on how old he is...if he is able to rationalize. If he's not...then a spank on the hand and a "NO, that will hurt you"...would be sufficient.

And as I used to tell my daughter..."When I tell you "NO"...it's for your own good...because you will get hurt." If not by whatevah it is I am telling her not to do that will hurt her..."But if you continue <with that particular action>"...I would say..."I WILL SPANK YOU...either way...You're GONNA GET HURT." Always worked for us. She's a great kid!!! The best...Someone asked me once..."How could you spank such a precious child?"...I answered..."Because I love her...I am her mother and I will always love her unconditionally...but I spank her so OTHER PEOPLE will love her."
