Haitian Metal Art originated in the early 1950s by a blacksmith named Georges Liautaud. This art form uses recycled oil drums. The artists use hammers and assorted chisels to cut and bend the metal into artwork.Haiti recycles old metal oil drums and transforms them into everything from landscapes to mythological sea creatures.
