Child Custody

I lost custody of my child due to not having a job, and writing too many letters to the court. There were also two evaluators against me, which also stated I was a good mother and had no sign of abuse of drug problems, or even alcohol problems. I appealed it, three Judges sided with me and ordered the final orders to be remanded and reversed and that the Judge look it over and make a different decision. I looked it over and reaffirmed it, even thought I have been employed for several years and took a parenting class. I do not have the money for an attorney or another evaluator. I cannot get any body to help me. I now only see my child two weekends a month, and have other children. Is there any possible way of getting my child back?

Have you sought legal advice? If not, perhaps you should.

You can have a consultation with an attorney for a reasonable fee; you will not be obligated to hire him or her just because you get advice regarding your situation.

Thanks, this is just so agrivating, because I am not smart but have good common sense. The little tests they gace me where like an IQ test, that I bombed. And they had me look at ink blots, I saw mostly animals, I guess that was bad. They ask questions about what you would do if your child does something. It was hard for me to answer some of them cause it hasn't happened. The home visits were great. When the father would do something I would write a letter to the court, and that was wrong. My finances aren't the greatest, but I have a loving family.

Okay, then you should go on line and look up the information for the Bar Association in the state where you live. (I would do it for you, but I don't know which that is.)

Once you get that information, there should be a telephone number or a link to the Bar Association's lawyer referral service.

The referral service can help you set an appointment with an experienced Family Law attorney in your area. There will probably be a fee, but it is usually nominal (in my area it's $30).

When you go to the appointment, be sure to take copies of all of your court papers with you so the attorney can review them and answer your questions.

You should also write down all of your questions before you go, and take that list of questions with you. (That's a good way to make sure you don't forget anything.)
