Is Chick-fil-a gay stance an advertizing ploy to boost sagging sales?

What is the financial stability of Chick-fil-a, and is their owner's recent announcement about gays an attempt to boost sales?

I don't think it's an attempt to boost sales.  I think he's expressing his opinion, at the risk of costing sales.  Although now that gays have announced a boycott, it may boost sales temporarily as traditional Christians, Jews, and Moslems make a point of stopping at Chick-fil-A.
