In North Carolina,You can get a school grant if you can prove your grandparents were Cherokee Indian. We are, where can we go to find it out and prove it?
First, my Great Grand Mother was Cherokee, as I have Cherokee Blood in my makeup. The answer to your question and best be found by doing a family tree search, knowing your ancestors last name. You can always go to the public records division in your town hall of city government division. Good Luck!!!
Possible to find it in the Hall of Records in Raleigh, N.C.
That should be your first stop....
Only if you are actually enrolled in a federally recognized Cherokee tribe. The American Indian College Fund provides scholarships to students attending tribal colleges. I thought they only provided scholarships to people with a minimum of one-quarter Indian blood but don't see that mentioned on their website, so they have have expanded to all students enrolled in federally recognized tribes.
