The only way to check a coil is to drive it a ways, then check it by touch.. If it's real hot then your lucky (in that it hasn't conked out yet). There's no way (other that that) to check one, they just go out with no signs to confirm it. The way to know it's the coil if your car goes out is that there will be no power at all.. No lights, no horn, radio, lighter.. Nothing.. Otherwise it's not the coil.
wrong!!! and if your coil goes out no power at all??? lights, radio??? what garbage are you posting here. leave the answers for people who know what theyre talking about. you test it with an ohm meter, primary and secondary side.
