On the Brinkman's, if you consider the lighted end as the "top", it's the top 1/4" of the bell housing that can be removed. The bell housing is part that rotates to turn it on and off. The part that is removed basically only holds the lens. The whole bell housing does *not* come off like the Mini-Mag flashlights do. Once you have the top off, you can remove the reflector (careful to avoid finger prints on the reflective surface, but it can be cleaned), and then you can pull the bulb out of the top of the flashlight.
