Home Depot used to accept these bulbs for disposal/recycling, but I am not sure if they are still doing so.

You can check with the manager of the store where you purchased the bulbs, some retailers may accept the used bulbs back for appropriate recycling and/or disposal. (The bulbs contain mercury, so it is illegal to discard them with your other household waste.)

If you cannot recycle them with the retail provider, locate the nearest hazardous waste disposal center which accepts household waste as well as such items as motor oil, batteries, paint and so on.

These centers should take your CFL bulbs, but be advised that some centers only accept these items on certain dates or at certain times of the year; so call before you go!
