What causes cantaloupe leaves to become spotted and die?

Every time I plant cantaloupes, something happens to the leaves, the vine dies, and there goes the cantaloupes.  The leaves start showing small brown spots all over the leaves, the leaves die, and then the plants.  I never seem to be able to grow a cantaloupe to maturity.  I have changed gardening sites, but I still have the problem.  The 'disease' started in the cucumbers and look like it spread to the cantaloupes.  I inspected the leaves for insects and couldn't see any.  Can anyone please help me with this problem?

I don't have an answer for you but I'm actually experiencing the same problem. The spots even appear to be spreading and lately we're noticing bright yellow spots. Did you ever find out what your red spots were from?
