What would cause my thumb to swell (overnight), abit numb & highly painful to move. The end joint moves like it is out of place..jerking & often freezing in place (where I have2manually push it open or pull it back down). I have #1-Spinal Stenosis #2-MS #3-Fibromyalgia #4-Reynauds D. #5-Osteoporosis #6-Traumatic Pancreatitis #6-Stress Fractures #7-Sciatica #8-Degenerative Disk Disease. Next wk my Pain Specialist wats to do a series of diagnostic facet injections (#6) & then possibly burn the nerves. I dont understand though 'What has happened to my thumb'?

You could have a snake bite, but you would probably know that.  You could have a sprain, a dislocation, or a broken bone.  It probably needs an X-ray to be sure.  Ice may help with the pain and swelling.
