I have a 300 or 240 Ford inline six cylinder engine. Could someone tell me where to find the engine block casting numbers. thanks

Do you have salvage yards in your area?  If so that is where I would start.

right next to the starter.  depending on the tyle of the truck its not hard to find.  I have 2.  One is in a 67 f250 and if I turn the wheels to the drivers side and get under the truck and look above the frame they should be right there.  The other is in a 1980 F150 and I have to look at it from the top which is dificult.  Hope this helps
