Service issues with 2002 thunderbird

i have had to replace 4 cyclinder coils (3 from oil leaks from the value cover gaskets which also had to be fixed) in the last year.  the tbird only has 82,000 miles on it and has not been driven hard.  is this reasonable or an engine defect?
