Resistors restrict the flow of electric current.

Capacitors store electric charge. They are used with resistors in timing circuit because it takes time for a capacitor to fill with charge. They are used to smooth varying DC supplies by acting as a reservoir of charge.

Transistors amplify current, and it can be used a switch and as an amplifier.

Explain 8/9c

This is totally nonsense. You cannot explain it as 8 eastern/ 9 central when eastern is always 1 hour ahead of central. There is no such thing as 8/9c. It should be 9/8c where it is 9 eastern/8 central.
