Canon pixma mp 160 cunundra

I have a canon pixma mp 160. Since I upgraded to windows vista my printer does not print or scan. It blinks the number 5 and the letter e. I bought new ink and since then It says that ir is not compatable. but the ink is the same as I have used before. I have reinstalled my printer software. Can anybody help me with this issue. thanks
