how can i cancel my account? cancel.aol.com didn't help, the settings who are supposed to be there are not.

the username is xxxxx@aol. the account was set up in Europe, but when I wanted to cancel it, they told me it's an US account. But the settings mentioned here I just do not have after logging in. And cancel.aol.com doesn't direct me anywhere other than my account settings without any option for deleting.
