where can I find replacement tiki torch canisters? Unfortunately, mine have rusted and are no longer usable. I ONLY need the canister. I have the poles. I've searched everywhere!!! Please help. Thank you!!!
Well, if your wicks and holders are still good, and all you need is the metal cannister: go to the automotive section of WallyWorld or somewhere like AutoZone. Purchase a can of BerrymanB-12 fuel system cleaner - pour it in your gas tank ( great stuff - will clean your injectors and remove water as a plus ) and the empty can is a direct replacement for the cannisters in tiki torches (or it was for mine). You can paint it if you wish.
Just want to thank the previous poster for his answer. I too was looking for the metal black tiki canisters, since two of mine had developed leaks. The Berryman b12 solution he recommended is perfect! I spray painted my two purchases black, after first emptying their contents into our two vehicle gas tanks. Now painted and empty, they look and fit EXACTLY like the original canisters! I am going to add fuel and should be set for a while. Kudos for the only solution I have found to work, sir!
This update is from 6/2011...I have searched High and low for the actual replacement canister, which the originals seemed to have a flaw in the seam, where it will rust, and then leak. Home depot still sells the short torches with tiki type carvings, but no replacements. The above solution would work, but i haven't found that additive in a metal container in a year or two, so now I have the problem of replacing my canister. I am trying a shorty beer bottle, using the original top which came with the torch canister. It seems to be working OK...but only time will tell, I'd hate to have a fire on my hands from a broken bottle.
i have 8 of the tiki torches and have been on computer for 2 days found nothing my hubby came home from work and within 5 minutes he found them for 3.99 each at out local hardware store they are a 'DO IT BEST" brand name hardware so check your local hardware i am glad i didn't have to replace the whole tiki torch it would have cost a lot
