Hello Hemplover,

I thought my sis was the hemplover! Anyways, thanx 4 the answer, I thought the mayfly is a fly. I read another website indicates their are butterflies with a life span of one day, then it says the mayfly is a fly w/the one day life span and the luna moth...i really need the name of a butterfly!!!but i do thank you much....Happy Holidays

The shortest life span of a butterfly that I could find was 6 days. Below is a link to the Mayfly (Which I just saw that "Hemplover" already gave you - LOL); and some great links to butterfly references COMPLETELY off the subject, but touching. Half the fun of searching for answers, is discovering many to questions I hadn't asked yet - But might have been in the process of thinking about! In the third link, the author shows an orange butterfly; but I just don't know if that is it. I'll keep looking.

I think you are referring to flies, not butterflies. Butterflies live more than a day..... or maybe....
