Bug bite in Arizona

We are camping in Sedona, Arizona and my son got bit by something tonight. He was trying to get our dog's ball out of the bushes when something bit him in the neck. I pulled it out with tweezers and the stinger was short and white, nothing that I have ever seen.  It was dark out and I could not find the bug.  Does anyone have any idea of what it could be and should I be concerned? It left a pink bite mark on his neck. Thanks!

I would take him to the closest Hospital. It probably isn't a tick they stay on and you have to remove them with lighter fluid or alcholol. There are so many bugs lurking in Bushes and you have no idea what the effects could be. If he were mine I would run him down to the emergency, they see every kind of bite there and could help keep it from causing problems later. I doubt it is anything to worry about but you never know. If he is having no ill effects from the bite it probably isn't anything to worry about. I've never seen a short white stinger either, my kids were always getting bit by something and nothing happened to them. Bees are more worriesome than the bugs in the bushes I think.
