A proposed national religion will never take hold in the U.S.  Religious tolerance is excepted by most all Americans.  I believe most of us know the difference between tolerance or control.  God help us if we except government control.

Nothing is as it seem's.

MikeC, Islam is in no way to be considered a religion.  The Q'Ran was an afterthought.  It is codified hatred taken down to a point that rational minds will not endure, however, where the mechanism of violent coercion exists the common man has only two rules:

 

Be a more fanatical Muslim than one's neighbor, fearing bloody repression and the government-sponsored random mayhem that accompanies it or;

 

Suffer as only the most sadistic and hateful deranged aggressions can manipulate it.  It is as personal as it is disorganized, hellish, and violent.

 

Once again, the excuses for one's misconduct are to be disregarded with prejudice, particularly where those excuses are weak, unconvincing, or illogical.  Rather, look to one's actions to disclose the true intention.

 

In the case of Islam, it is war without end, tyranny without hope, and violence without any cause whatsoever.

Rocmike3   There are thousands of religions.   All you need is a few people to believe in the same thing to have a religion.  I also know there was more than 600 years between the death of Christ and Mohammad.  I keep asking the question about Ismael son of Abraham and what took place in the years proceeding Mohammad.   What I question is the authenticity of Muhammad's teachings.  Muslims seem to be more victimized than anyone else from there own.  Why is that ?  We bring up all of the Christians that die from the hands of the Muslims and Yet I would say that is not 1/3 of the loses made by Muslims on Muslims.   Is there a sect of Muslims that believe in peace but are killed trying to achieve that peace ?   Why are they there own worst enemies ?  If there is a peaceful sect of the Muslim faith is there any hope for them ?    Are the Muslims of Egypt as vicious as the one from Iran or Iraqi?  You don't hear much from Egypt do you ?   To tell you the truth,  the thing that I have the hardest time with in this country is the inability of the so called peaceful Muslims to stand up on there own and fight the extremist.  Maybe you are right that they are all extremist.  I pray to God they all are not.  For their own sake as well as ours.

Mike you need to do a study on Isaac and Ishmael, I believe you will find the answers your looking for. Here is a start.

When Abraham and Sarah would not abide God's time for the promised child, then the man of faith hearkened to the fleshly arrangements of his wife in order to have a child by his handmaid. And from this union have come those who have been the inveterate enemies of the gospel of Christ through the centuries, namely, the seed of Ishmael.

 Esau also represents in the Scriptures the flesh and its desires. When we turn to Genesis 36:3 for the list of the wives of Esau, we are not at all surprised to find that one of them is "Basemath, Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebaioth." The flesh is joined to the flesh; flesh ever gravitates to its own level, the flesh.

 Finally, when we seek the origins of Ishmael we must recall that he is from unbelief also. Despite the clear promises of God Abraham prayed earnestly, "Oh that Ishmael might live before thee!" This was unmitigated unbelief. To this supplication God answered, "Nay!" Compare Genesis 17:18,19. Such is the background of the life of Ishmael.


Isaac, on the other hand, was the child of promise. Read the record: "And God said, Nay, but Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac; and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him."

There was never a question that Hagar and Sarah didn't get along.  I can't think of a house that is big enough for two women.  The thing is, Abraham should never have taken Hagar as his concubine.  That was a very bad idea and the world has come to regret that illegitimate union.

 

God had mercy on Hagar.  Abram did not.  God saved her and the baby.  They have been bitter enemies of Isaac's children ever since. 

 

I don't hold with Abraham on that and God didn't either.  Time and again, God chewed out Abraham for his little foray with his handmaiden.  If I had been Abraham I would have been faithful to my wife.  The rest never would have happened.

 

Hagar didn't have much choice: she couldn't turn down her master.  I guess we could write a soap opera on that event.  It would touch on every area of the family, love, and commitment.

Southern 7162     Good points.  What I keep thinking about  Gen. 16:12  "He shall be a wild ass of a man, his hand against everyone, and every ones hand against him.  In opposition of all his kin shall he encamp."  This seems to have been the case through the  centuries.   Is all hope lost for them as a people ?   Could there ever be a reformation of truth in Islam ?

Methinks it was Gods plain all along, looking at this spiritually (and God is spirit)  Abraham got tired of waiting on the promise seed because Sarah couldn't get pregnant, so Abraham listened to Sarah, and Ishmael was born from Hager.


Ishmael was a seed of Abraham but not the promised spiritual seed from God, Ishmael was of the flesh action of Abraham and Hager because Abraham didn't wait


Later I think it was around 14 tears later, God told Sarah and Abraham that Sarah was going to get pregnant by Abraham, and to call  his name Isaac, and Isaac would be the spiritual promised seed from God through Abraham and His wife Sarah.


Sarah said she had never heard of such a thing, a woman her age getting pregnant, HOWEVER Abraham and Sarah had faith  in God they made love and sure enough just like God said a child was born from a woman to old in life to have children at that time.


Sarah and Abraham named the child that God had blessed them with Isaac, just like God said for them to do,God told Abraham that Isaac was the promised seed from God.


Long story short, Abraham didn't wait  for the promised seed from God through Sarah, Abraham acted from the flesh with Hager, Ishmael was born from a flesh action. Ishmael was The seed of the Flesh


Isaac was born from a spiritual action of God, seeing to it that Sarah got pregnant from Abraham even at her age. Isaac was the spiritual  seed of God.


Abraham prayed to God to make Ishmael the promised seed because Ishmael was the first born of Abraham but God said NO, because he was born from Abraham's flesh action with Hager.


God told Abraham that Isaac was the promised seed from God and He would give Isaac a Nation, HOWEVER, because Ishmael was a seed from Abraham also, God said that He would give Ishmael a Nation also.


NOW here is where it all comes together spiritually, the good seed from the promise to Abraham through Isaac from God, and the bad seed from the promise to Abraham through Ishmael  from the Flesh.


God had a reason that I don't think there would have been anything anyone could have done to change it. To separate The good seed from the bad seed,


Those that followed Ishmael were of the flesh promise they didn't believe or have faith in God just like God promised, they were against everything that was of God.


Those that followed Isaac were of the spirit of God promise  they like Abraham had faith in God just like God promised. they did everything that God said to do while waiting on the promised Messiah.


The rest is history, God sent the promised Messiah,His only begotten son Jesus Christ who died on the Cross for our sins.


God said to ALL if you believe in Jesus Christ then you are of Abraham's seed,heirs of the promise, the kingdom of heaven.


Today those are people who believe and have faith in Jesus Christ .The good seed of Abraham, Isaac of the spirit of God spiritually through Christ. They are called Christians The offspring of Isaac. Spiritually there father is Abraham because he had faith in God.

 

Today there are people who don't believe or have faith in Jesus Christ. The bad seed of Ishmael of the Flesh. They are Mooslams, Atheist, or anyone else that don't believe in Jesus Christ. The offspring of Ismael they say they are of there father Abraham and they are,  but they are (OF ISHMAEL THE FLESH)  they refuse Jesus Christ the Lord God Almighty.


God said to ALL if you believe in Jesus Christ then you are of Abraham's seed,heirs of the promise, the kingdom of heaven.

 

From the time of Ishmael and Isaac up unto today, NONE of Ishmael's offspring (SEED) has ever turned to God,they worshiped false gods. and after Christ died on the Cross, NONE of Ishmael's offspring (SEED) has ever turned to Jesus Christ.


ALTHOUGH, Abraham is the father of both Ishmael and Isaac, Ishmael and his offspring is of the Flesh,(as God promised they would be)  and Isaac and his offspring is of God (as God promised they would be)

 

The good seed of the promise, and the bad seed of the flesh.


Thats how I see it anyway.

MikeC, very true indeed.  The entire world has come to hate Muslims because of their vindictiveness, mindless arrogance, violnce, oppressive false religion, and their disgusting futile cowardice.

 

"In his country, the jackal is a lion," goes the old proverb.  Maybe 400-pound Muslim cretins can maybe beat up on little kids (or blow up bombs onboard airliners) but it only proves the fact that Muslim cowards are disgusting and useless cowards.

 

No fighting man can ever respect a worthless and undisciplined coward.

In my closet, I still have a Mamaluke Sword -- one that the Marines took away from the cowardly Mamaluke castrati in Tripoli when we kicked their asses in no uncertain terms.  Well, Muslim castrati are as cowardly now as they ever were and prove it daily with cowardly suicide attacks onboard airliners carrying women and children.

 

Well, maybe our spineless cowardly Mamalukes can beat up on women and kids. 

 

Let's see how they deal with United States Marines.

 

I'll make book at track odds that they will still be as cowardly as when 60,000 of their very best fighting men surredered in Desert Storm -- many to unarmed journalists.
