You may wish to contact the high school, and request that they forward a message.  The school cannot release information of course but they will notify the person.  Their notice will include a standard "Release of information" for employment or other use.

That standard release will include your name, address, and cause for the request.  The graduate may then respond personally or have the school respond.

I hate to tell you how many times shady characters have tried to hack my scholastic records.  In several cases I referred them to the police.  In only one case was it an old school friend, and we got back together. 

Would that I had a better idea, but that may get you started.
