What age child reads the Diary of Anne Frank? Is 10 to young?

For some children 10 is too young. I was 12. But them again some children are more advanced them others, so 10 would be ok for some children.

I read it when I was 9 or 10. If you're letting a child that young read it, make sure it's the original version, not the unabridged or annotated, but the version called Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl.

Her father edited that version for publication, and he removed some of the more personal scenes.

I believe I read this when 11 or 12. Probably would depend on the maturity level of the child. And, as parents or involved adults, be ready to answer questions honestly or ask some yourself to provide  additional insight for the kid and interest in related themes in history.
