Live Target Blue Back Herring Fishing Lure

I recently picked up the blue back herring from live target and have heard great reviews for the lure. This lure is supposed to be used in saltwater however i was wondering if it is effective to use in freshwater as well. If anybody who has experience with this bait could provide me with a answer I would be eternally grateful. Benjamin Morse

I don't know about the herring lure, but try trolling with a used tampon on the hook...they practically jump in the boat!
