Where did you get that idea?

Love one another.

I doubt that it is medically suggested (or necessary) to take a patient's blood pressure by that method, but there are instances where a blood pressure cuff is used on the penis.

After surgery for priapism (an erection that won't quit), for instance.

In that case, it is usually prescribed by the urologist to try to 'squeeze out' excess blood and prevent the priapism from returning; the nurse will most often use a pediatric blood pressure cuff in carrying out the doctor's orders.

There is also a device similar to the blood pressure cuff which may be used in treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Again, neither treatment has anything to do with taking your blood pressure.

Are you perhaps having ED issues and you're looking for an inexpensive alternative which may help you to have satisfying sexual encounters again?

believe it or not, just in everyday talk with some friends. Just harmless chat. I'm sure you know how conversations get starterd.

No jkgrandma. I'm female.lol It was just a conversation my girlfriends and I were having. She has started to use a wrist cuff to test her blood pressure for her doctor. And one thing led to another. All innocent. I have heard of the instances you are describing so I was just wondering. Thankds for your answer.

brandy, I got a real LOL from your response. I'm so used to the way guys think, the idea that this question came from a girl never crossed my mind. Now fooling old Gary is one thing but when you fool jk (see below) that's something to remember.

I mean, it's even bigger than that, this is a truly historic occasion, it's like fooling mother nature!

Hi Gary. Your letter had me hysterical. lol But with all these responses, I never did get an answer!! But since you have a blood pressure monitor right there.......!! lol Only kidding. Maybe! I wouldn't want to be responsible for YOU getting ED. You would be surprised by what woman talk about. The same things guys talk about, only in reverse. lol

Can't wait to hear your response to this one!! lol

You can certainly read increases/decreases in blood pressure from the penis. During the 1970's, experimental aversion therapy was conducted with people classified as "sexually deviant". Pictures were shown to the participants after a blood pressure monitor was hooked to the penis. increases in pressure were assumed to indicate arousal and were following by aversive stimuli.

I very much doubt however that the readings obtained would correlate with the readings taken from upper arm - and of course, with women - you wouldn't get any readings at all.....
