I blew up several balloons & they are not airborn. Should I use a pump to make them stay in the air?

If you want them to stay up by themselves they'll need to be filled with helium. Either that, or invest in double sided tape and stick them to the walls and ceiling. Filling them with plain old air won't make them float, not even if you're the windiest politician in history.
