I heard a person may receive a birthday card from the USA President when 100 years old. Can this be done and how? Who to contact? Not much time. Need for Feb 21st.
In the UK, the Queen sends a birthday card to everyone who turns 100 but it is auromatic from the electrol register.
I do not think the US has this system by you can try sending the President a letter and see what happens:
Send him a fax and explain you want a card for someone that is going to be 100.. Send name & address where card should go: The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Washington, D.C. 20500 Switchboard: (202) 456-1414 Comments: (202) 456-1111 TTY/TDD (202)456-6213 Visitors Office: 202-456-2121 Fax: (202) 456-2461 Web Site: http://www.whitehouse.gov
Thank you so much for your information. I did learn that, when a person reaches 100 years of age they are automatically sent a birthday card from the President. Also, their name is read on "The Morning Show" television program. This was all news to me. I guess I haven't personally know anyone who ever reached 100 years of age. But then, my father has always been someone special and he knew he would make 100. Thanks again.
Well that is good to know. Happy Birthday to your father for Feb 21st.
Other people asked questions on various topics, and are still waiting for answer. Would be great if you can take a sec and answer them
