Where can you buy biodegradable home and garden products, and how can you make sure they really are green?
Bio degradeable, hummm. Any thing not, metal, ceramic or plastics. Some plastics say that they are Biodegradeable.
The real question is how long will it take to biodegrade?
Everything will at some point, it might take centuries but it will finally degrade, not saying what it will degrade into either.
Paper, takes the shortest time. Anything that comes from Mother Nature breaks down eventually. Wood & leaves turn into coal or oil given the right circumstances.
Being GREEN dosen't mean live like a caveman, and sell Geico Insurance.
I means taking care of what you DO use in a proper manor. Recycle everything you can. That means most Items we all use can be recycled in some way.
Your question is relevent only to the extent of what YOU do to make the earth a more friendly place for all of us to live.
I buy my products from healthy stores such as the Whole Foods store. I trust their products to do what they say, though I have researched some in the past.
I use baking soda and vinegar to clean almost everything in my home. You can mix the baking soda and vinegar to clean the toilet, baking soda is good for scrubbing, and vinegar with a few drops of essential oil is good for cleaning the floors.
If you can believe the information on the bag then that's all you can do unless your a chemical advocate determined to prove their claims. I wouldn't dispute any claims unless it was an oral claim (not validated with the written word). Just as you must take the word of those commercials who ask for your money to save ten thousand people tonight, it's much better when you see it in print, so.. read the ingredients and especially the small print and you can't go wrong.
I just use stuff that is good for the environment such as reusable rags that I can wash, baking soda, vinegar, and ammonia to clean my house. You need to read the ingredients good and be familiar with what they are.
