You said you had a friend that needed a verse about getting out of the storm.  I am thinking you might be referring to a Bible verse, but I am not sure.  If that is the case, I like all of Psalm 46, but I find verses 1-3 and 10-11 particularly helpful.  They are: "1) God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  2) Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea; 3) thought its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult. ... 10) 'Be still, and know that I am God!  I am exalted among the nations,I am exalted in the earth.'  11) The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our reguge."

I have also found the story of Jesus stilling the storm at sea to be helpful.  You can find that in Matthew 8:23-27, Mark 4:36-41, and Luke 8:22-25.  I will quote it from Matthew because it is the shortest version.  "23) And when he (Jesus) got into the boat, his disciples followed him. 24) A windstorm arose on the sea, so great that the boat was being swamped by the waves, but he was asleep.  25) And they went and woke him up, saying, 'Lord, save us!  We are perishing!'  26) And he said to them, 'Why are you afraid, you of little faith?'  Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a dead calm.   27) They were amazed, saying, 'What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?'"

There are other biblical passages about storms, but I have found these two to be helpful to me because they remind me that God is with us during the storms of life.  I hope this helps your friend.
