Isaiah 24:6 reads:"That is why the curse itself has eaten up the land, and those inhabiting it are held guilty. That is why the inhabitants of the land have decreased in number, and very few mortal men have remained over." That is, land will be emptied beccause its inhabitants have bypassed God´s laws, broken his covenant and by this reason God will permite the desolation of Judah and Jerusalem by the Chaldeans in 607 b.c.e. But Jehovah forcast the salvation of a few men who will be send into exile for seventy years.  After, as forecast in chapter 25 and 40 - 66 Jehovah tells of the release from Babylonian captivity of Jewish exiles and the restoration of Zion.

Hello Arose,

When reading the book of Isaiah, the student of the bible must keep in mind that Isiah was a prophet and as such declares both the near (literal application) and far (prophetical application).  From the literal standpoint God was declaring Israel's discipline.  But from a prophetical stand point, the prophet was declaring the outcome of the last days-

as predicted by many of the Lord's prophets; Moses, Ezek, Jeremiah, Joel to name a few... The last days would be marked by horrible times (Matt. 24; Dan 9-12; Ezek 34-40 Joel 2; Deut...

Scripture speaks of a time just preceding the Lord's coming as being a time so horrible that the world has never seen such a thing and never will again! The world calls it WWIII and bible students know it as the Armageddon!  This will be a 7 year span that would literally wipe out the human race from the earth.  But God in His infinite Grace will not allow man to totally annihilate themselves.. Isaiah is speaking strictly from a "what will the outcome be for Israel! Some will be spared "A FEW..." in comparison to the population at that time!

Why is the definet artical in greek with the word prayer in acts 6:4 left

Articles in Greek were used in various ways and in different grammatical constructions (rather differently from how they are used in English). For instance, the opening of the Gospel of JOhn is literally (no typos here), "In beginning was the Word, and the Word was in the direction of the God, and ...
