Discuss Mike Dudley's answer to: Why is there nothing in the bible about Jesus' circumcision. Surely this was a big event in Jewish society, even way back then.

And, if He was known to be the Christ child, why was circumcision necessary?  As an example to us, just as his Baptism was?  Since He was not baptised in his infancy, but as a grown man and under his own volition, why did the Roman Church instruct their parishioners to sprinkle babies and not immerse them?  And immerse them after they requested it, like Jesus did?

Baptism is another name for micvah, the ritual imersion in water for any of several rasons. Google it, for fun.
