Fresh is better.

Fresh is great as long as it is one of the 4 healing aloe varieties (aloe barbadensis miller is best) and ideally grown organically. It is also best if it is a mature plant (5+ years old). Aloe gel from inside the leaf oxidizes within hours of being filleted so don't use it after a few hours. I don't live in a hot climate so fresh is no good for me!

I get it from www.bestaloestore.com because they only use aloe barbadensis, mature plants, and it is naturally stabilized so it is fresh.
