This is NO substitute for the message boards.  Even though the board software was awkward and hard to navigate, it was better than nothing but AOL has decided to shoot themselves in the foot.  Bye AOL.

AOL answers is stupid. Gee, could they fit a few more ads in, @@

You have got to be kidding....this forum sucks!

Nope.  Bye bye AOL

if you think I'm paying good money for this rubbish you've got another think coming..... as soon as I find another ISP that I want I'm off.... been a loyal customer for 10 years and this is how you repay us..... no wonder so many are going to leave, you have let your customers down IMO.

At this point the trolls are in agony. The boards are gone. Whine whine. Good thing really. This Answer site is doing the job. It's upsetting the trolls. I can live with that.

Okay, I just came back from a brief hiatus and there are no boards. I have no idea how long they have been gone and it appears that AOL Answers has taken it's place? If this is the case, where are the topics? I just went in to "Entertainment" to see if I could "chat" about a certain television show and there is no system that separates topics. (Example: There does not appear to be anything that separates all question about American Idol from other questions... Top Chef, Dancing With The Stars, etc. are all mixed in with it, even when sorted by relevancy.)

As far as the trolls, they could be loads of fun and actually added to the message board experience. Besides, there was an "ignore" feature on those boards... and if you didn't like what some trolls were posting, you could click ignore. Actually, most trolls encouraged people to use "ignore"... I guess those being trolled had no willpower and had to know what was being posted about them and continued to feed into (and contribute to) the "drama' they claimed to abhor. If the old boards were closed as a means to stop the trolls, that is really sad. This is like someone not being able to handle the heat, so instead of getting out of the kitchen, they decides to completely eliminates the kitchen. Now nobody can cook. :( :::Sigh:::

Anyway... If the posting boards aren't coming back and AOL Answers is what has replaced it, any tips on navigating through this new format would be greatly appreciated. (Example: If there is a "search" bar specifically for AOL Answers that I inadvertently missed, please let me know where to find it.)

Thanks in advance! :)

The boards closed in February.  There are trolls on AOL Answers, and spammers, and AOL does not do much about TOS reports.  There is a search at the very top of AOL Answers, but it doesn't work reliably.  And you can't select a sub-category, only the major categories.  If you want dressage, you get all sports.  When posting an answer, you will get a popup error when you hit the first space; I think it is spell check failing.
