The best shoes for skateboarding will have a flat extra durable sole and durable upper.  Look for ones where the laces are protected on the upper outer side.  Skateboard tricks will wear down and rip the laces long before the shoe wears out.

Most good shoe can be found in a skate shop.  They will carry shoes that are more durble and give better board feel.
