Baby oil, vasaline, or any cream or lotion helps

Leah, you don't need any recipe, all you need is a small can of vegetable shortening. It's the best make-up remover in the world and it softens your skin as well. Super cheap and super good. Follow with a mild astringent or toner and you're good to go.

Leah, any astringent or toner will do, however I make my own with 1/2 cup listerine, 2 tablespoons rubbing alcohol, 1/2 tsp. baby oil and 1/4 cup boiled or distilled water.

Remove shortening with a soft cloth or tissue, and use another soft cloth or tissue to apply astringent, (to remove any left over residue and close pores). And yes, it works great on eye make-up, as does good old baby oil. I usually remove my eye-makup with baby oil as it too conditions the eye area, and is a little easier to use then the shortening. Also when using the shortening message the skin for several seconds till shortening liquifies. It doesn't take much, so don't smear your face with a whole glob of it, or it will take a ton of tissues to get it all off. Start with about a teaspoonfull, that should do your whole face.

If you happen to have oily skin, I would recommend only using a few drops of the baby oil in the astringent. I have dry skin, so I use a 1/2 tsp. You can adjust it to your skin type by trying it a few times to see exactly what it is you need.

I have not bought cleanser or astringent for many years and have saved myself tons of money, and I am constantly told I have beautiful skin, and I have a mirror, so I know I do. So it really does work.

I have friends who have spent a fortune on cleansers and toners over the years, and I wouldn't trade faces with them for all the money in the world. They just can't believe homemade things in your cupboard can really work. I'm living proof, but they don't think it was anything I used, just luck. Oh well, too bad, so sad. They wasted all their money and they still look like crap.

Mashed bananas and oatmeal make a great moisturizing mask, cucumbers and cold tea bags are great for under eye puffiness, and avacadoes (mashed up) are a great moisturizer as well. You don't need to put chemicals on your skin, natural produsts are so much better and far cheaper. They have the vitamins and minerals your body requires, inside and out.

So have fun, save your money and play in your cupboard and frig instead, your face will love you for it!
