how does beadboard wallpaper look next to wood beadboard, would you put the two in the same room?
Hi Deeanne,
The main difference is going to be the thickness. From what I see of online specifications for the wallpaper it is about 3/32" thick. If you use 1/4" beadboard plywood that will be more than double the thickness. The beadboard we mill for our shutters and doors is 1/2" thick.
So if you have them side by side the thickness will be very noticeable. This also means that the detail in the beadboard wallpaper is not going to be as defined, or look as deep, as it will in the plywood or real beadboard.
If you have them side by side I think the difference is going to be a bit extreme. However, if it is just in the same room it may not be as noticeable.
Your best bet is to get a sample swatch of the beadboard wallpaper, take it home, and see how it looks compared to the wood beadboard.
I hope this helps!
Jim
Beadboard is a conventional style of wall paneling, installed to give insulation to rooms. by the use of wallpaper theme you can the theme for your room as per your choice. Like in your kids room, you can get any cartoon theme as he/she wants. But yeah make sure you also keep in mind about the thickness too.
