Battery Is Not Charging

I bought a new battery for my laptop, connected a a power adapter, I can use thw laptop  but it is not charging. I put in the software CD and tried to update my system's bios and it won't update as it is not charging. Maybe it is not the right battery.

Hi john,

you can try this:-

shut down your laptop and connect it to the charger. keep it on for half an hour.Now turn on your laptop and check the battery meter if it has risen up or not. if not, you can go back to the retailer with the bill and  replace it.
