The next Batman super villain? I guess we have seen the Caped Crusader grow up since Adam West and Burt Ward made the DC character unbearably schmaltzy. I liked the way Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer treated the part of Batman and the way Chris O'Donnell played Robin. The menacing villains they faced had taken on that all too necessary human quality in the movies.
How about pitting the nearly-indestructable Batman and Robin against a Muslim terrorist syndicate operating elusively in Gotham City? Drugs, child selling, money laundering, terror, and bigotry make this new villain all too real.
Let's call him the Sheik and he is deeply placed within the criminal underground of Gotham. He and his drug-funded gang is there to seek revenge against disabled veterans back from Iraq and Afghanistan -- and not afraid to murder half a million other people just to get to the fifty or so cripples he has sworn to destroy.
It hits close to home. Here we see the gray areas that make the Batman story convincing. I want to hear from some Muslims on this one too. Would you people really do such a thing?
What do you think?
