If the ball hits the pitching rubber it is a fair ball no matter where it goes after that.

That's right, it's a fair ball. On a line drive it must stay fair until it crosses third or first base and if it goes foul then it's still a fair ball so anything in the middle is always fair.

Any batted ball that hits anywhere in fair territory no matter where it goes after that is a fair ball. Even if it hits a player before it hits the ground, as long as the player was in fair territory when the ball made contact with him.

Play Ball!

It's foul as long as it don't hit anyone or no one goes for it before it goes foul.

You are absolutely correct. As a former minor-league umpire, I can also say that if the ball hit an umpire before it ended up in foul territory between home and 3rd (or first), it is also a foul ball.

Thanks, and people say women don't know sports.

Well, it's obvious, Gina, you know baseball in this situation, although I have never heard of it ever happening in my years of being on this planet. Keep up the good writing.
