Do Ballerinas HAVE To Be Annorexic?

Italian ballerina Mariafrancesca Garritano, now in her mid-30s, gave a count: seven in ten dancers at the La Scala Academy in Milan have had their menstrual cycles stop, one in five have anorexia, and many of her colleagues are now physically unable to have children.

Can you become a professional dancer with a healthy BMI?

Of course not.  Do you not see that dancers, atheletes depending on their specialties have certain shapes?

Your choice of sport makes your girth.

It helps that a male danceur only has to fling around 75 pounds when he lifts a ballerina in a high toss.  They are nice to look at but these people are not performance athletes.

How would you like to try flinging 425 pound Mark Avery, US Gold Medal Dead Lift Chamipon?  He can dead lift over 880 pounds.

One Marine, Sergeant Billy Anderson, stood in front of my desk as supposedly severely overweight: 325 lbs at 5'7".  I expected a lard bucket.  Instead I saw an Olympic athlete in front of my desk, whose 3-mile run time was in low 18 minutes with a 60-pound pack!

I sidelined him from his primary duty tinkering on ECM gear and begged him to take over the physical fitness program for MCAS El Toro.  That was enough to put me in front of the CO, but when he saw Anderson, he started training with this great Marine.

So did I.

I went from a centrifuge rating of 7.21 G's to 9.36 G's in one month.  That saved my life repeatedly.

God, I do love SOME overweight Marines.

There burns no hotter fire in hell than that reserved for cowards, home wreckers, and troublemakers. Be warned accordingly.

I'd rather be with a healthy weight gal than a fragile ballerina any day.
