Hi Dave,

   I looked it up and recipies requires addition of salt.  Go to Google and put scones, you get some recipies there from joy of baking .com

In cooking, you add various amounts of salt to everything, especially breads. Even to sweets and desserts. This is because salt isn't just salty. Its primary function is as a flavor enhancer, to make the flavors of all the ingredients stronger.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.

Yes. Scones are in the same category as biscuits and you know that salt is added to biscuit dough.
