i first of all appriciate your courage to bear him so much,  

there is a kind of people who never think before speaking.  such people when speak, they afraid in their speaking and try to use some extra ordinary words to confuse the other one.  if he is abusing your family or you, no need to worry.  just listen him and smile in frot of him .  this will realize him that there is no  affect of abusing on you.  next tim he will try in new way, but will use less harsh words.   he might have same wording in all your querrls.  when you will give no attention, he will never use the same words.

the words you write in you story are common in most of family cases.  in such cases men tries to dominate over the female because he migh have never opppsed by female parents.

i dont advise to threat him of counseling.   this will break your relationship.he needs you and you need him. that is the life which we say full of sorrows and joys
