A Bachelor of Science, like Bachelor of Arts, in the US is normally the result of four years of successful college study after high school.  Bachelor of Science degrees are awarded in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and similar subjects.

BS degrees are awarded on successful completion of four years matriculation and either a statement or thesis depending on the college.  Some colleges offer quarter credits and others offer trimester credits.  Most students attend year around although most colleges have a month off in summer for vacation.

Here are the standards.
