They contain a lot of calories and as long as you eat them your body will not burn as much fat and you won't

lose weight.

If you look at the research, there is no relationship between body weight and carbohydrate consumption.  However, the

type of carbohydrate you consume can cause problems.  Regular consumption of quick-dissolving carbs like sugar and white bread can lead to weight gain as well as other health problems.

Don’t avoid carbs!!! People used to think that because carbs contain sugar and a lot of calories they should be avoided completely. That’s what I thought too before my nutritionist corrected my mistake. She told me that because my diet is carb-free my calorie intake is too low and my metabolism slows down. You only need to watch WHICH carbs you eat. For example don’t eat white bread, eat whole grain bread. Whole grain has better carbs that are important in our diet and contain less calories than regular processed wheat. For more information and advice on which carbs to eat and how much, you can talk to an advisor from BitWine, that’s how I found my nutritionist. Here is the link:

It's not! Carbs are one of the body's best and primary sources of fuel. Don't listen to these so called experts who claim that carbs are bad for you and can make you fat. That's a straight out lie. A diet that consists of lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and wholegrains and limits highly processed foods is ideal. For more info on this check out:

Everyone is right!  Do not avoid carbs or even certain kinds of carbs.  Your body needs all of them for energy.  You wouldn't avoid fruits and vegetables because they contain fiber right?  Well, fiber is a type of carb!

Any and all diets will fail if you do not monitor your portions and combine it with some kind of exercise.  So it's not necessarily what you eat, it's how much.

As to exercise, find something you like to do besides exercise your thumb on the remote control!  Do you like to dance or rollerskate?  How about playing sports?  All of these are fun as well as good types of exercise!

Remember that your goal is to be healthy, not anorexic.

we need carbs - but the good kinds like vegies, fruits, wholemeal bread, etc..the carbs you don't want are the processed kinds like white bread, junk food....

Carbohydrates are your body's primary energy source and they are not nearly as bad as many people think. You will feel tired physically and mentally without them, your body and brain will not function properly.

However, everything should be in balance and moderation! You do not want extreme fluctuations of energy in your body. It is important to balance your carb intake with some protein, fiber and a little fat.

The more processed the carbohydrate, the faster the glucose is released into your blood. This can cause sudden spikes and drops in your blood glucose levels, hence volatile energy levels in the body. Whereas complex carbs provide a slower and more sustained release of energy than simple carbs.

Please be aware that restricting carbohydrates in your diet will also lead to binge eating. Many people will end up craving for very sweet and unhealthy carbohydrates, rather than loading up on whole grains, fruits, vegetables and milk. It would better serve the body to eat nourishing carbohydrates throughout the day.
