How many years one has to be married to one to collect there social security and can you collect exhusband deceased SSI after eight years of marriage

Dave, You would have to have been married at least 10 years to collect on your ex-partners social security.  Eight years is not enough.

You have to have been married ten years to collect an ex husband's SS. You also have to be 60 years old.

You have to be married for 10yrs...From the date of marriage to the date of final divorce......And you have to be 60 yrs old to collect widows pension.....Only if you haven't remarried .....
