Hi my 2001 Ford mustang starts but wont go into gear is it the transmishion or anti thieft or what can it be thanks its a auto 6 clynder

I'd look into the shift interlock.  Brake pedal must be depresed to shift from park. Failure of the shift solenoid or cable, if equipped will give you a no-shift from park condition. Good luck. let me know. Tom

did you try to remove the selector shaft from the transmission or drop the valve body? its possible that the shifter linkage is out of adjustment, if you didnt remove the valve body or the shaft, try to move the shifter linkage to adjust the switch.
