Can the engine be mounted in a 1997 honda accord? and does the manual transaxel bolt up the same?

No, No and No.

By the time you are done custom designing your own engine mount, own transaxle that bolts up to the 97 Accord hub, figured out that you cannot simply drop in the batteries onto the trunk, went through the wiring nightmare, and found out after all that, you could just save the money and pick up a used 1st gen Civic Hybrid or Honda Insight.
