What do you do after a hit and run accident? who's responsible for cost? what happens to the driver who fled the scene?

Usually, the driver is never found. So, in that case, you just need to take care of the costs yourself.  Hopefully you have insurance, and they will help you. 

I do really look forward to turkey-day dinner all year-round....
