Discuss silly's answer to: What is a author's note?

An author's note is simply something the author would like the reader to know that is not part of the body of work.  It may also be used to express gratitude to contributions which enabled the author to complete their work.  Sometimes a "forward" is used for these purposes.  I believe it to be an objective choice made by the author.
